  • By purchasing a ticket, purchaser enters this raffle and accepts and agrees to be bound by all the rules, regulations, limitations and restrictions set forth herein. Please contact Special Olympics Louisiana (SOLA) if you have any questions about this raffle. SOLA's interpretation and application of the rules and regulations shall be final.
  • A ticket represents a chance to accept the stated prize(s) subject to all terms and conditions set forth herein and in the "Prize-Winner Affidavit”. Winning tickets shall be selected by a random drawing in which all participants have an equal chance of winning. Winner need not be present to win. Winners will be notified by Certified/Return Receipt Mail and will have fourteen (14) days from receipt to accept the prize and sign and deliver the Prize-Winner Affidavit to Special Olympics Louisiana Headquarters per written instruction. In the event the winner fails to accept the prize(s) within the time set forth, and at the option of SOLA, the prize(s) will be forfeited and shall remain the property of Special Olympics Louisiana.
  • Purchaser agrees to release SOLA and ScholarWise, LLC, their directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability for injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by participating in the raffle or winning any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize and each winner agrees to indemnify and hold SOLA and Free To Learn (formerly ScholarWise) harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind rising in connection with or as a result of participating in the raffle or the winner's acceptance or use of any prize.
  • Tickets are one hundred dollars ($100.00) each. A maximum of 10,000 tickets will be sold. Special Olympics Louisiana, at its sole discretion, may move the date of the giveaway by 30, 60, or 90 days.
  •  A raffle participant's sole and exclusive remedy for SOLA's and/or Free To Learn's (formerly ScholarWise) breach shall be limited to the return of the purchase price paid for his or her raffle ticket(s).
  • It is understood that the $100,000 Grand prize shall be administered by a trustee or escrow agent and that distribution of any and all funds from the trust will be directed by the trust or escrow agreement without exception.
  • Prizes will not be awarded and shall be forfeited if winner's ticket was issued in exchange for a check returned for "insufficient funds” or for a credit card charge declined, invalid, stolen or otherwise rejected.
  • Prizes may not be substituted or exchanged. Prizes may have expiration dates. Additionally, travel prizes are subject to availability and subject to other restrictions.
  • Per IRS regulations, the $100 ticket price is not deductible as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes.
  • All prizes remain the sole property of Special Olympics Louisiana until unconditionally accepted "as is, where is” by the winner. Prizes shall not be awarded until the "Prize-Winner Affidavit” has been signed and delivered to Special Olympics Louisiana.
  • Names and/or likenesses and quotes of winners may be disclosed to and used by the news media and may otherwise be used by SOLA and Free To Learn (formerly ScholarWise) for publicity purposes and in lists of prize winners to be published in area newspapers, and announced on area television and radio stations and the SOLA and Free To Learn websites.
  • Prizes are for the private use of the winners as stated in the Prize-Winner Affidavit and may not be used for any other fundraising activity by the winner(s).
  • All federal, state and/or local tax consequences are the responsibility of the winner of any and all prizes. It is strongly recommended that winners consult a tax advisor.
  • Employees of Special Olympics and ScholarWise and their immediate households are not eligible to participate. "Immediate Household” shall be defined as spouse, parents and grandparents, children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, daughters-in-law and sons-in-law, roommate, or partner who reside, on a permanent basis, at the same address as the employee. Adopted members and step-members are also included in immediate household.
  • Must be a U. S. resident and 18 years of age or older to participate. All ticket purchases are final and non-refundable.
  • Purchase of a ticket constitutes full agreement by the purchaser with all terms and conditions set forth herein and in the "Prize-Winner Affidavit”.
